Washington, D.C. — The Securing America’s Fuels (SAF) Act continues to gain momentum in the U.S. House of Representatives as five additional members have joined as co-sponsors since its introduction late last year.  

“This legislation would restore the full value of a critical tax credit that encourages domestic production of sustainable aviation fuel. At a time when strengthening America’s path to fuel independence is critical, this is a commonsense step forward. The bipartisan coalition supporting this bill is further proof of broad agreement on this approach,” said Alison Graab, executive director of the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Coalition.  

Since its introduction by Representatives Mike Flood (R-NE), Sharice Davids (D-KS), Troy Carter (D-LA), and Tracey Mann (R-KS) late last year, the legislation has gained new co-sponsors:  

• Rep. Derek Schmidt (R-KS) 

• Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) 

• Resident Commissioner Pablo Jose Hernández (D-PR) 

• Rep. Bradley Schneider (D-IL) 

• Rep. Marilyn Strickland (D-WA)
