SAF Coalition Meets with Congressional Champions to Strengthen Sustainable Aviation Fuel Policy at SAF Hill Day
Coalition representing nearly 60 stakeholders across SAF value chain expressed optimism about the future of SAF policy in the 119th Congress
Washington, D.C. — The Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Coalition met with key lawmakers on Capitol Hill yesterday to discuss critical policies supporting the domestic growth and adoption of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in the United States. As part of SAF Hill Day, these meetings underscored the vital role of SAF in creating new opportunities for Americans, including opening new markets for U.S. farmers, generating new and well-paying jobs in rural communities and promoting American energy dominance. Members of the Coalition met with more than 50 House and Senate offices to advance these critical discussions.
“Sustainable aviation fuel not only opens fresh opportunities for American farmers and rural communities, but it also promotes American energy dominance. The SAF Coalition’s conversations with our partners on Capitol Hill reinforced the broad, multisectoral and bipartisan support for SAF policies,” said SAF Coalition Executive Director Alison Graab. “By working with lawmakers and industry stakeholders, we can ensure that the United States can maximize the potential and benefits of SAF.”
Throughout the day, Coalition members met with key Congressional leaders to advocate for long-term policies that will drive the large-scale production and adoption of SAF.
“Sustainable aviation fuel presents a unique opportunity for American farmers and rural economies,” said Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS). “As a leading agricultural state, Kansas has a critical role to play in the future of SAF in the United States. I appreciate the SAF Coalition’s efforts to expand the production and use of SAF, and I look forward to continuing our work together to make certain Americans benefit from its long-term economic advantages.”
Since its formation last year, the SAF Coalition has grown to nearly 60 organizations across the SAF value chain. Its broad membership includes airports, airlines, aircraft manufacturers, agribusinesses, feedstock producers, labor unions and technology companies demonstrating the support SAF enjoys across the industry’s many stakeholders.
